Gems of the English Baroque has Handel’s splendid ‘Dixit Dominus’ taking centre stage. Also included are excerpts from Handel’s oratorio ‘Solomon’ and works from Purcell, one of which has been given an intriguing contemporary twist.
The choir and its conductor Mark Biggins will be joined by impressive young soloists and an instrumental ensemble, adding extra excitement to this celebration. Past members of the choir have also been invited to join in what promises to be an exceptionally rousing performance of ‘Zadok the Priest’.
Members of the audience will be invited to join choir members for a reception at the end of the evening.
