Petitions

If you wish to raise an issue or have your views heard on a council matter you may want to set up or sign a petition. You can set up and submit your petition online using our ePetition facility, or provide it to us as a paper copy.

We have a Petition Scheme which contains more detail about the petitions we can accept, how we will respond to them and what to do if you are not satisfied with the way your petition has been dealt with. There are also general criteria which apply to both electronic and paper petitions - our petition terms and conditions. In the period immediately before an election or referendum we may need to deal with your petition differently. If this is the case, we will explain the reasons and discuss the revised timescale which will apply. The Petition Scheme and terms and conditions for petitions are available on our ePetitiion page.
