Seasonal leaves recycling

Christmas and New Year collections

As usual, our garden waste and leaves recycling service is suspended during Christmas and New Year's weeks.

Seasonal leaves recycling

This is a fortnightly, separately charged service to recycle leaves only.

The service operates between September and February. This season it will operate from Monday 4 September 2017 until Friday 2 March 2018. The leaves recycling service is suspended for two weeks at Christmas and New Year.

Leave your recycling out for collection in a visible place at the edge of your property by 6.30am on collection day. Please note we work as normal on bank holiday Mondays and Good Friday.

Leaves are collected in 60-litre reusable sacks, which are designed to hold a maximum of 10 kgs of leaves. Sacks cost £6.40 each per year, or £5.75 if paid by Direct Debit.

There is no limit to the number of sacks to which you may subscribe.

How to join

Download a seasonal leaves recycling leaflet and Direct Debit, or click the service request link to request the service and pay online. You can also pay by cheque at the Town Hall. If doing so, please attach a note clearly stating what the payment is for. Do not post cash.

Renewing your subscription

If you subscribe by Direct Debit you do not need to do anything. We will simply notify you each year that we are collecting a further 12 months' subscription and your service will continue uninterrupted. If you pay by any other method we will contact you in advance when your subscription is due to expire, to ask whether you wish to renew it for a further year.

Who can join the seasonal leaves recycling service?

All houses in the borough can join. Collections are not available to businesses.

What happens to your recycling?

As an alternative to paying for collections you may wish to recycle your leaves through home composting or at the Community Recycling Centre, Blenheim Road.
