Four of the Conservation Areas – Ewell Village, Stamford Green, The Green/Ewell Downs Road, and Higher Green/Longdown Lane North have an Article 4[2] Direction placed upon them.  This Direction limits still further what changes can be undertaken to properties within them, which are normally allowed under rights for householders called “Permitted Development Rights”.

Conservation Area Appraisals

The Borough Council has been set targets by the Government to carry out Appraisals of all its Conservation Areas over the next few years and produce Management Plans for them.  These Plans are intended to help guide future planning policies for the area and identify any improvements that may be desirable.

Further information on the appraisals and the consultations that are currently taking place are available on the Conservation Area Appraisals page.
