Benches and seats

There are approximately 400 seats and benches.  We will inspect defects within a day and rectify within a week.

Bollards

Bollards on the highway are the responsibility of Surrey County Council.

Bus Shelters

There are approximately 70 bus shelters located within the borough. Epsom & Ewell Borough Council has a contract with Clear Channel Outdoor (formerly known as Adshel) for bus shelter provision & maintenance.

Each bus shelter is numbered with 8 digits, beginning with 4602. This number is located on the roof line of the shelter where this is used to report the damage to Clear Channel Outdoor (the bus shelter number will also help to identify it's exact location).

The placement of Bus Shelters in the Borough is the responsibility of Surrey County Council. The furniture is the responsibility of EEBC. Please note however that the bus shelters on the new hospital cluster are the responsibility of Surrey County Council. 

Dog bins

There are approximately 100 dog bins. They are emptied at least three times a week.

Litter bins

There are approximately 400 litter bins and they should be emptied before they are three quarters full.  All bins are emptied at least three times a week and some are emptied every day.

Noticeboards

There are approximately 20 public notice boards.  Damaged boards will be repaired within 5 working days.

Planters

There are approximately 20 planters adjoining the highway.  They are planted with trees or shrubs.  We will repair a damaged planter within 15 working days.

Railings

Railings on the highway are the responsibility of Surrey County Council.  We are responsible for railings in parks.

Street name plates

We will replace damaged nameplates within six weeks.

Signs

We are responsible for signs in parks and off street car parks, within the curtailage of Borough Council buildings and for the "Borough of Epsom & Ewell" signs at Borough boundaries.  Surrey County Council are responsible for road signs.

Street lights

There are approximately 8000 street lights.  Those on the public highway are the responsibility of Surrey County Council. They will inspect a defective light within one week.  Time for repair depends on the defect.

Lights in off street car parks, some of those in public parks and some of those on the Longmead and Ruxley estates are our responsibility.  We will inspect a defective light within one week. Time for repair depends on the defect.
