We offer a choice of garden waste recycling containers:

  • 240-litre brown wheelie bins for £32 per bin per year
  • 60-litre reusable sacks at £8 each per year. Each sack is designed to hold a maximum of 10 kilograms of garden waste.

A 50% discount is available for recipients of certain means tested benefits.

Please note that you cannot dispose of garden waste in your green rubbish bin.

Leave your recycling out for collection in a clearly visible place at the edge of your property by 6:30am on your normal collection day every fortnight.

We will simply notify you each year that we are collecting a further yearly subscription and your service will continue uninterrupted.

If you subscribe using any other payment method, we will contact you in advance when your year’s subscription is nearing completion to ask whether you wish to renew it for a further year.

Who can join the kerbside garden waste recycling service?

All households in the Borough can join. If you live in a flat you may wish to consider communal collections where residents share a number of central recycling bins. Please contact us for details.

Collections are not available to commercial organisations.

When do collections happen?

Collections take place fortnightly on your normal collection day. Request a collection calendar.

When there is a Bank Holiday on a Monday, collections will be one day late. If your normal collection day is Friday your bin will therefore be picked up on the Saturday. Please Note: we do work on Good Friday so collections will be as normal on that day.
