When will my refuse be collected?
Domestic refuse is collected weekly. For details of your collection day please contact us on 01372 732000. On the day of your collection please leave your wheelie bin at the edge of your property by 6.30am.
What happens if my bin is missed?
Bins may be missed for a variety of reasons. If a bin is overfilled, or filled with very heavy waste, we will not be able to take it. This is for health and safety reasons: if a bin is too heavy it risks falling from the vehicle's bin-lift, possibly injuring someone. A bin whose lid cannot be closed due to an excess of waste will not be collected as materials can fall from the bin during lifting, again risking injury.
If your bin is placed at the edge of your property (by 6.30am please, as there is no guarantee that our vehicle will always arrive at the same time each week) and is not overfilled it will be emptied each week. If you find that this has not happened by 4pm (in case we are calling at a different time to that normally experienced), please contact us.
To report a missed bin use our online form or telephone 01372 732000.
What happens if my bin is damaged
If your bin is damaged you should either complete our online form or telephone us on 01372 732000.
What happens after Bank Holidays?
When there is a Bank Holiday Monday, collections will be one day late. If your normal collection day is Friday your bin will therefore be picked up on the Saturday.
Please note that we do work on Good Friday, so collections on that day remain as normal.
Christmas and New Year
Details of collections for Christmas and New Year 2008/09 will be shown here in December.
Can I have an additional bin?
We provide, as standard, one 240-litre wheelie bin per household, where storage and access conditions allow. Additional refuse containers are available but charges may apply. Extra recycling boxes/bags, however, are available free of charge.
For full details of the options available, please contact us on 01372 732000 or email us at contactus@epsom-ewell.gov.uk.
What if I have difficulty moving my bin?
Elderly or disabled/infirm residents can join the "pullout" service. Our collectors will then collect the bin from beside your front door if you are finding it difficult to place it at the kerbside.
This service are subject to approval. To request a pullout, please call us on 01372 732000 or email us at contactus@epsom-ewell.gov.uk.
