Plan E, the Epsom Town Centre Area Action Plan, was submitted to the Secretary of State on 30 April 2010.

Inspector

Mrs Julia Gregory BSc (Hons) BTP MRTPI MCMI, a Planning Inspector, has been appointed by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government to conduct the Independent Examination of Plan E, the Epsom Town Centre Area Action Plan. The Inspector held a Pre-Hearing Meeting at 10.30am on Thursday 5 August 2010. The Hearing Sessions were held Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 September 2010.

The Inspector has been appointed to check that the plan has been prepared in compliance with legal requirements and to consider whether it is sound. To be sound the plan should be justified, effective and consistent with National Policy.

Pre- Examination Meeting 

The Inspector held a Pre-Hearing Meeting on Thursday 5 August 2010 in Committee Room 1, Town Hall, The Parade, Epsom, Surrey KT18 5BY. The purpose of the meeting was to provide an opportunity for procedural and administrative matters relating to the hearings to be explained and discussed including how interested parties can prepare in the most effective ways. In advance of the meeting a draft procedural note and a Draft matters and issues for hearing list of the main issues for examination incorporating the draft hearings programme was circulated.  

The notes of the pre- hearing meeting and an accompanying letter have now been published.

The Inspector's matters and issues were updated following the Pre- Examination Meeting showing the participants in the oral sessions of the examination. This document also incorporated the examination programme.

Mr S Clark, Steve Clark Associates, will not now participate in the oral sessions of the Examination.
