On Saturday 7th July 2007 Epsom and Ewell Borough Council, Surrey County Council Youth Development Service, Rhythmix, Skyline Studios, Jellytree Productions and Live and Direct joined forces to run a youth music festival called Euphonic for all young people aged 13-19 years of age.  It took place at Hook Road Arena in Epsom.

The day was a huge success and over 500 young people and their families attended the festival to listen to the live music as well take part in the fringe activities, such as DJ workshops, circus skills training and skateboarding .  There were also over 200 young people performing as part of the youth bands, of which there were over 40 on 2 stages in the arena.  Their performances were top rate and they all helped to create a fun atmosphere at the event.  Well done to everyone that was involved in making the first Euphonic such a memorable day.

If you are aged 13 to 19 and are a budding young musician who would like to learn more about playing in a band, no matter what ability or experience, contact Lintons Youth Arts Centre for more information on 01372 722644 or visit their website on www.lintonsyoutharts.co.uk.  You can also visit the Live and Direct website.

Keep an eye out on the www.euphonic.org.uk website next year for details about the 2008 event.
