About the Surrey Youth Games...
The P&G Surrey Youth Games is the largest annual youth sports competition in the County, with more than 2,000 competitors taking part in 15 different sports in an Olympic style event. The Games are a great way for young people to get involved in a new sport and benefit from FREE coaching!

Team Epsom & Ewell won the coveted Overall Borough Trophy for the second time in 2015. This was a fantastic achievement for the smallest Borough in Surrey! 2016 will be the 20th anniversary of the Surrey Youth Games. Can Epsom & Ewell make it a double celebration by retaining the Overall Borough Trophy? Training sessions take place across the Borough between April and June (the training schedule can be found below). The actual Surrey Youth Games Finals take place on the weekend of the 18 & 19 June at the Surrey Sports Park in Guildford.

More about the Surrey Youth Games...

The P&G Surrey Youth Games is an exciting festival of sport which attracts young people to play in a range of sports at a competitive level. The 11 Boroughs and Districts in Surrey compete against one another for the chance to claim the Overall Borough Trophy. It is a great opportunity for young people to make some new friends and try sports that they may have not have played before.

Qualified coaches run all sports, with the majority having direct links with local clubs with junior sections. The Games offer young people the chance to become connected with local sports clubs. The lucky ones who are chosen for the various sporting squads will be invited to some advanced training sessions leading up to the Games. This provides an opportunity to meet team mates, learn more about the sport and profit from excellent coaching which will help to develop the skills required to do well in the Games.

There are also pathways in place to make sure that all young people involved with the Surrey Youth Games can make use of the close links established with local sports clubs and continue playing sport after the Games have finished. This includes participants who may not have been selected to represent the Borough in the Surrey Youth Games.

You do not have to be a competitor to be part of Team Epsom & Ewell! There are plenty of volunteer opportunities to get involved. This can include volunteering to support the competing sports teams from across the Borough. To find out more about the Surrey Youth Games please visit the Active Surrey website.

If you would like to volunteer and support Epsom & Ewell with next year's campaign please contact the Leisure Developments Team using the contact information below.
