We maintain 53 sites around the Borough and as you might expect, there is a lot to do!  If this page does not answer your question, please contact Customer Services on 01372 732000 or send an email.

Cleaning and Waste

All our street cleaning and bin emptying (including dog waste bins) is carried out by the Operational Services department.

If you wish to report areas that are littered or report bins that need emptying, please contact Customer Services using the contact details on the left of this page.

Grounds Maintenance

Grounds maintenance covers grass cutting, flower beds, shrub pruning, hedge cutting, bowling greens and pitch marking.

If you feel that one of our sites requires attention, please contact Customer Services using the contact details on the left of this page.

Playgrounds

The Ranger Service visits each playground daily to carry out a visual inspection and litter pick.

Any faults are immediately reported to the Maintenance Rangers who will then work with the Parks Manager to complete repairs as soon as possible.  If an item is considered dangerous it will be taken out of use.

If you see vandalised/damaged equipment at any of our playgrounds, please contact Customer Services using the contact details on the left of this page.  This is important as often the damage can present a safety hazard.  If you witness damage occurring, please call the Police on 999.

Repairs

There are numerous repairs needed to maintain buildings and items of park furniture.  Sadly we also have to repair damage caused by vandalism.

The Rangers, through daily patrols of parks, identify repairs which are then passed to the Maintenance Rangers to progress and complete.  This is completed by the Council's Property Services Section and small contractors.

The Ranger Service also maintains a database of all reported repairs so that we can monitor trends within our parks.  This enables us to confirm seasonal increases and decreases in vandalism and the success of projects aimed at reducing antisocial behaviour.

If you see vandalised buildings or items of park furniture on any of our sites, please contact Customer Services using the contact details on the left of this page.  This is important as often the damage caused can present a safety hazard.  If you witness damage occurring, please call the Police on 999.
