Operation Information

Cleaning & Waste

All our cleaning and bin emptying is carried out by contract.   The contract requires standards to be maintained for litter picking and emptying of both litter and dog waste bins.  If you see badly littered areas, overflowing, missing or vandalised bins on any of our sites please contact us on 01372 732000.

Grounds Maintenance

The grounds maintenance function is carried out by contract.  Currently Cleanaway operate the contract which covers grass cutting, flower beds, shrub pruning, hedge cutting, bowling greens and pitch marking.  If you feel that an area is being poorly maintained on any of our sites please get in touch.

Playground

The Ranger Service visit each playground daily to carry out a visual inspection and litter pick.  Any faults are immediately reported to the 'Patrol & Maintenance' Rangers who then work with the Parks Manager to complete repairs as soon as possible.  If an item is considered dangerous it will be taken out of use.  If you see vandalised or damaged equipment at any of our playgrounds please contact us, using the number above.  This is important as often the damage can present a safety hazard.  If you witness damage occurring please call the POLICE ON 999.

Repairs

There are always repairs to carry out!  With parks that are often many decades old, there are numerous repairs needed to maintain old buildings and items of parks furniture.  Sadly we also have to repair damage caused by vandalism which is a regular occurrence.  The Ranger Service, through daily patrols of parks, identify repairs which are then passed to the 'Patrol & Maintenance' Rangers to progress and complete, via the Council's Property Services Section and small contractors.  The Ranger Service also maintains a database of all reported repairs so that we can monitor trends within our parks.  This enables us to confirm seasonal increases and decreases in vandalism and the success of projects aimed at reducing antisocial behaviour.

If you see vandalised buildings or items of parks furniture on any of our sites please contact us, using the number above.  This is important as often the damage caused can present a safety hazard.  If you witness damage occurring please call the POLICE ON 999.
