History

Ewell Court House, completed in 1879, was financed from the profits of gunpowder mills sited south of the Hogsmill River between 1754 and 1875 (the produce of which was said to have been used in the American Civil War).  Ewell Court House and its grounds was purchased by Epsom and Ewell Borough Council on the 2nd of March 1935 for £5,490.  The house is currently used for weddings, receptions and functions.

The Ewell Horticultural Association and Ewell Court Library are based at Ewell Court House.
