Discover the fascinating past of Epsom & Ewell at Bourne Hall Museum. Based in the futuristic building of Bourne Hall, our free museum allows you to come face to face with the local past.
With exhibits ranging from prehistoric times to the modern day, our permanent displays and regular exhibitions illustrate every aspect of local life and have something to interest all members of the family.
The Museum charts the Borough's history through its collections of document and picture archives, fine art, costume, archaeology and social history. Highlights of our collection include Lord Rosebery’s hansom cab, a 19th-century fire engine, extensive Derby memorabilia and significant Roman archaeology from local sites.
If you have any questions, or would like to look at items not on display, please contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.
For more information on local history please go to the Epsom & Ewell History Explorer website, and for more about archaeology, to the Epsom & Ewell History and Archaeology Society
We run a successful children’s club which meets on the second Saturday of each month. Each session is on a different theme and we regularly have visiting re-enactors, many of whom have been on TV, to bring these meetings to life.
For more details on the club and for information on future meetings please go to the Epsom & Ewell History Explorer website or contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.
The museum offers a wide range of popular, free educational services to both schools and home-educating groups within the Borough. These include loan boxes, talks and guided walks. For more information on any of these services please contact us using the details at the bottom of this page or see our brochure below.
