Under the Pollution Prevention and Control Act 1999, certain industries require a permit to operate. This permit contains various conditions in order to minimise the emissions of pollutants to the air. Environmental Health carries out periodic inspections to make sure these industries are compliant with the conditions of their permit.
In Epsom & Ewell we issue permits to two vehicle refinishers, eight dry cleaners, eight petrol stations and one mobile crusher. Details of these industries can be found via the following link:
