Remembrance Day Service Information

The Mayor Councillor Alan Winkworth will be attending the Remembrance Day Service along with Members of the Council and the Member of Parliament Chris Grayling at St Mary’s Church, Ewell at 10.50 am.

The Civic Procession will attend the Wreath-Laying Ceremony at the War Memorial prior to the service at 10.30 am.

The Mayor will be laying other wreaths at the War Memorials in the Borough on the mornings of Saturday 8 November and Sunday 9 November.

There will be no public service at the War Memorial at Ashley Road Cemetery at 3 pm this year.

The Deputy Mayor Councillor Jean Steer will be attending the Remembrance Day Service at St Martin’s Church, Church Street, Epsom at 10 am.

The Mayor and Members of the Council will be supporting the Royal British Legion in the nationwide observance of the Two Minute Silence at 11 am on Tuesday 11 November 2008. The Civic Party will process from the Town Hall to the Clock Tower at 10.50 am for a short ceremony which will end with the firing of a maroon at 11.02 am. It will be arranged that all the traffic in the Market Place will be brought to a halt for the Silence.
