Longmead Centre
The Longmead Centre is a spacious and modern building which welcomes people 55 and over who are looking for an exciting programme of social and recreational events. We also offer a range of classes designed to promote health and wellbeing.
The Centre is open five days a week, Monday to Friday from 9am-4pm
Coffee Shop
The coffee shop is set in our comfortable dining area where you can relax over a coffee and enjoy one of our freshly baked cakes and savouries. This is the focal point of the Centre where people can catch up with friends and check out the regular events and activities.
Dining
The Centre has an attractive restaurant style dining room where you can enjoy a wide range of freshly prepared meals and snacks at very competative prices. In addition, we have special occasion lunches followed by live entertainment. Lunches are served daily Monday to Friday at 12.30pm and must be ordered by 11am on the day.
Activities
Tai Chi - A gentle form of exercise for abilities proven to benefit health and improve balance and concentration. The class is held on Tuesday mornings at 11am with our highly qualified instructor.
Line Dancing - Join us for this very popular class held every Wednesday morning. It is a lively session with great music and friendly people.
Keep Fit - We have two keep fit classes, Monday and Friday mornings; both are suited to all abilities. Stand up or sit down for the exercises, make new friends and enjoy the music.
Whist Drive - Our Whist Drive is played weekly on Tuesday afternoon. If you haven't played before we can help you out.
Arts and Crafts Group - Regardless of your ability you are welcome to join our friendly group on Wednesday afternoons.
Bingo - Come and have an afternoon of fun at our cash prize bingo; each end of month session pays double money!
Indoor Bowls Come and join us and have some fun.
Chess - We have a chess group which meets once a fortnight on Tuesday mornings. If you would like to join them just come along, new members are always welcome.
Games - Come along and join us for a game of snooker or darts.
For the less mobile, our activities officer ensures there is plenty of fun every day with armchair bowls, skittles, quizzes, Wii Fit and competitions.

The Longmead Centre has various sized rooms suitable for Parties, Meetings, Exercise and Dance Classes. Parking is not a problem as we have a car park adjacent to the building. You are welcome to come along and see our facility and discuss your requirements.
