RouteCall is a transport service for older residents of the Borough who have difficulties in using public transport. The service runs Monday to Friday between 8.45am and 4.00pm .
Who can use the service?
If you meet the criteria below you are eligible to apply for membership of RouteCall:
- A resident of the Borough
- Aged 60 and above
- Find it difficult or impossible to use public transport
- Or aged under 60 and find it difficult or impossible to use public transport by reason of disability.
To join the scheme
If you wish to join the scheme, complete an application form and send together with the annual membership fee:

You will be sent:
- A welcome letter
- Details of how to book
- A membership card
- Details of upcoming excursions.
How to book
Ring us on 01372 732448 between 8.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Bookings for next day travel must be made by 2pm. Bookings can be accepted up to three weeks in advance of the date of travel, with the exception of excursions. You can book one-off trips or regular repeat bookings (eg shopping on a set day at a set time each week).
The bus will pick you up from your home and take you to The Longmead social centres and will return you in the afternoon:
- The Longmead Centre, Sefton Road, Epsom
Pick up is typically between 9am and 10am returning in the early afternoon.
On Demand (Dial a Ride)
|You choose where you want to go within the Borough and when you want to be picked up within the times the service operates. Our customers use this service for medical and other appointments or to visit friends. You can also travel outside the Borough to certain Hospitals and Nursing Homes.|
Shopping (Dial a Bus)
The bus picks you up from your home and takes you to the Clock Tower in Epsom (Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday ) or Sainsbury’s Kiln Lane (Monday and Wednesday) for shopping.
Typically buses are scheduled to arrive at the Clock Tower in Epsom at 11.15am returning at 1pm. At Sainsbury's arrival is at 11am returning at 12.30pm. Pick up from home is from 10am.
|We offer excursions to Garden Centres and pub lunches and cream teas in the local area. The Excursions are advertised on the Route Call Vehicle by a poster on a monthly basis. The Excursions are available to all members and trips are booked by telephone.|

Fares are paid to the driver upon boarding the bus.
If a member requires an carer to travel with them , you let us know in advance, the carer may travel free of charge if they are a registered carer, except on excursions.
