The Meals on Wheels service delivers a choice of tasty and nutritious meals to vulnerable residents of the Borough who are unable to cater for themselves.  This may be on a short or long term basis.

There is also a Sandwich service available for those who need an extra snack at tea time.

How do I qualify for Meals on Wheels?

You need to be referred to us by Social Services, your GP or another Healthcare Professional.
If you are a family member and feel you would like to refer someone for the service, you will need to contact the Meals on Wheels Officer. 

Criteria for referral, the client must be

• Living alone and unable to cook for self
• Housebound and unable to shop for a main meal
• At risk of malnutrition; not motivated to cook
• Unaware of time and/or need for regular meals, where there is clear evidence of confusion
• Living with an elderly carer who requires assistance

Deliveries Our friendly, helpful staff and volunteers can deliver a hot meal to your home between 11am and 2pm Mondays to Fridays. Frozen meals can be provided for weekend consumption.
