With a Community Alarm you're never alone!
The Community Alarm service provides elderly residents of the Borough with a pendant which can be worn around the neck or on the wrist and connects through a phone line. This allows you to call for help in the event of illness, a fall or other emergency, no matter where you are in your house or garden.
The service allows you to live independently within the community, giving you, your family and friends, the reassurance and peace of mind that help can be called for in an emergency.
How does the Community Alarm Service work?
You are provided with a pendant which can be worn around the neck or on the wrist. If you need assistance you can get "Help at the touch of the button" (pendant).
This will connect you to the Control Centre, the centre is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, they will know all your details and be able to get the right help to you including the emergency services if required.
What happens if I fall and I am unable to talk?
Immediately after you have pressed the button on your pendant your details appear on the computer screen at the Control Centre. If you cannot speak to the Control Centre Operator, one of your keyholders and the emergency services are called to come and help you.
