Stray Dogs
Every stray dog collected is checked to see if it has any identification tags. If the dog does have an identification tag we will confirm that the details are correct by contacting the owner to advise we have the dog and to organise its return.
If a dog does not have an identification tag it will be taken to a local kennel and kept there for 7 days or until the owner comes forward. If the owner has not made contact within 7 days the dog will be moved to Battersea Dogs Home where a more permanent home will be sourced.

What can I do about dogs fouling the pavements?
You can report the matter to the Customer Contact Centre on 01372 732000
Complaints are dealt with in strict confidence, your name and address will be required for our records only. You will be asked if you are aware of the details of the person responsible, then we can pay them an advisory visit. Alternatively, if you are able to inform us of regular times and descriptions of people and their dogs that are responsible then this will help us in our investigations.
On some occasions, members of the public witness fouling offences taking place and are prepared to make a statement and possibly go to court. If we can identify the offender then we may prosecute them using your evidence.
