The Emergency Management Team at Surrey County Council is responsible for managing the preparedness and response of the County Council to major emergencies or disasters in Surrey. The team also works closely with the eleven borough and district authorities, the emergency services, a number of voluntary agencies and businesses.

Flooding - the Environment Agency has lots of information on preparing for flooding, as well as what to do during flooding and advice on clearing up afterwards. It also provides information about registering for flood warnings.
The National Flood Forum is a charity run by people who have experienced the trauma, loss and frustration of flooding or have first hand experience of supporting the victims of flooding both during and after the event.
It provides support and advice to communities and individuals that have been flooded or are at risk of flooding. The Forum also produces a directory (the Blue Directory) of companies that supply goods and services associated with flooding, including lightweight ‘sandbags’, automatically closing airbricks and companies that specialise in clearing up after flooding.
