A major emergency can impact on you, or where you live

 
This could include:

  • Severe weather, for example flooding, heavy snow or high winds
  • Health alerts such as heatwave or pandemic flu
  • Transport accidents or major fires
  • Security related incidents, including bomb warnings and terrorist attacks.

There are a number of steps you can take to help protect yourself and your family in an emergency. There are some steps that you can take now to prepare, and it is also worth putting a little thought into what you and your family would do during an incident.

The Role of the Council

The Council’s role is to ensure that, together with partners, we respond effectively to emergencies that affect residents, businesses, visitors and/or the environment within the Borough.
