RouteCall is a transport service for older residents of the Borough who have difficulties in using public transport.  The service runs Monday to Friday between 8.45am and 4.00pm and on Saturday one bus operates to Epsom Clock Tower. 

Who can use the service?

If you meet the criteria below you are eligible to apply for membership of RouteCall:

• A resident of the Borough
• Aged 60 and above
• Find it difficult or impossible to use public transport
• Or aged under 60 and find it difficult or impossible to use public transport by reason of disability.

You will be sent:

• A welcome letter
• Details of how to book
• A membership card  
• Details of upcoming excursions.

How to book

Ring us on 01372 732448 between 8.30am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. Bookings for next day travel must be made by 2:00pm.  Bookings can be accepted up to three weeks in advance of the date of travel, with the exception of excursions.  You can book one off trips or regular repeat bookings (eg shopping on a set day at a set time each week).

Social Centres	The bus will pick you up from your home and take you to one of the Council’s three social centres and will return you in the afternoon: The Longmead Centre, Sefton Road, Epsom The Wells Centre, Spa Drive, Epsom Cox Lane Centre, Cox Lane Epsom. Pick up is typically between 9.00am and 10.00am returning in the early afternoon.
On Demand (Dial a Ride)	You choose where you want to go within the Borough and when you want to be picked up within the times the service operates.  Our customers use this service for medical and other appointments or to visit friends.  If you are not sure how long you are going to be, telephone us when you are ready to return.   You can also travel outside the Borough to certain Hospitals and Nursing Homes.
Shopping (Dial a Bus)	The bus picks you up from your home and takes you to the Clock Tower in Epsom (Tuesday to Saturday) or Sainsbury’s Kiln Lane (Monday and Wednesday) for shopping. Typically buses are scheduled to arrive at Epsom at 11.00am returns at 1.00pm.  At Sainsbury's arrival is at 11.00am returning at 12.30pm.  Pick up from home is from 10.00am.
Excursions	We also offer a wide and varied programme of excursions to theatres, pub lunches and to have cream teas.  The quarterly brochure is available to all members and trips are booked by telephone, on a first come first served basis.

Dial-a-Bus	£1.90 single £3.70 return
Out of Borough - Hospitals*	£6.60 single £13.00 return
Borough Resident visiting Nursing Homes adjacent to the Borough	£3.30 single £6.60 return

Fares are paid to the driver on boarding the bus.
 

If a member requires an escort to travel with them and you let us know in advance, the escort may travel free of charge.
